Workaround for Connecting to Zebra Printers after Chrome 142 Update

Only the system administrator should implement these changes.

Chrome’s recent update to Chrome 142 introduced a feature that is preventing some users from connecting to and using Zebra printers. You can read more about this Chrome update in this article

Our team is working on a fix that will resolve the issue with the new Chrome version. In the meantime, here is a workaround that allows you to connect to your Zebra printers.

  1. If possible, revert to Chrome 141. If not, contact your system administrator to review and implement these changes. Administrator’s access is required.
  2. Contact our Support team to get the registry scripts. These scripts edit Chrome preferences so it does not enforce the new feature. No other changes are made to your system. This opt-out will no longer be effective in the Chrome 146 release.
  3. Run the relevant Windows or macOS scripts for your system.
  4. Close out of all Chrome windows and processes. If there is any doubt, please restart the computer.
  5. Log back into the Extensiv application, and label printing should be restored.
