Creating a Base Charge Rate for Less Than Truckload (LTL) Orders Going to Various Retailers

This article offers a step-by-step guide on creating a base charge for Less Than Truckload (LTL) orders destined for various retailers. For further guidance, you can also watch the instructional video.
- Navigate to Rates on the left navigation menu.Â
- Next, select Rate List.Â
- Then, click + Create Rate in the upper right corner.Â
- On the Create New Rate window, select the following options as shown below.
Activity > Auto > Smart Rate > Flat Rate
- Afterwards, click Continue.Â
- Provide some basic details such as Rate Name, Rate Description, and Charge Label.
- Select Shipping for the Transaction Type and Handling for the Charge Category.
- Click Continue.
- Â Select Carrier as the conditional field in the Charge Condition section. Then, select Equals as the operator and LTL for the conditional value.Â
- Add a condition by clicking the + button.
-  Select Ship to Company as the conditional field. Then, choose Contains as the operator and specify the company's name in the Conditional Value field for the destination. In the example below, the company name is ‘Bobs Camera’.Â
- On the Charge Method section, select the following for each field:
Charge Type: Flat
Counting Unit: Transaction
Calculate By: Count
- Click Next.
- Enter the desired charge amount. Then, click Next.Â
- Â To add another condition, click Yes, Add Condition when prompted with Would you like to add another condition?
- Â In the Charge Condition section, select Equals as the operator and LTL as your conditional value for the first condition.Â
-  For the second condition, choose Contains and specify the company's name in the conditional value for destination.  In the example below, the company name is ‘City 7-11’.Â
 -  Follow the same charge method used in Step 12.Â
- Enter the desired charge amount. Then, click Next.Â
- Â To add another condition, click Yes, Add Condition when prompted with Would you like to add another condition?
-  Follow Steps 16 to 17 to add the third condition of this rate. In the example below, the company name is ‘Bushes Market’.Â
- Â Follow the same charge method used in Step 12.Â
- Enter the desired charge amount. Then, click Next.Â
- Â To add another condition, click Yes, Add Condition when prompted with Would you like to add another condition? Select No if you're done.Â
- Â Optional: You can add a total rate minimum in the Rate Level Rules section or click Skip.
- On the Would you like to save this rate window, click Yes, Save.
-  You will get a message stating ‘Complete.’  On the same window, there is a prompt asking if you would like to add this to a rate sheet. Select Yes or No.
